What some people call art is enough to make repressive dictatorship seem like an erotic massage.
"I May Not Know Art..."

...and here's the proof that while I know what I like, I don't give much of a fuck about what anyone else likes.

...stuff nobody but me would call "art"...
...And in an infinite number of years, we would all win the lottery.
See that image at left? It's an original acrylic by BC Binning, and I found it at a yard sale for $30.
Who the hell is BC Binning? Fucked if I know...I only know his paintings sell for mucho dinero. Yep, this is a real-life Antiques Roadshow story...and it's happened to me twice now. (09/05)

A monogram like no other
You simply won't believe the richness and organic beauty in this watercolor "monogram" of my name as created by a Shanghai street artist. Unquestionably the nicest piece of original art I've owned since Friday. (07/05)

Body Art
...assuming you can call anything that involves my body "art". Includes a little PhotoShop phun, an explanation-slash-apology for having posted the photo at left on the site's homepage in the sproing of '05. (The unretouched original photo is not on this site. But girls, if you ask nicely, I could be tempted to...

I found this Dali print of Impressions D'Afrique at - wait for it - the local Salvation Army...for all of three bucks.
Dali has been by far my favorite painter since my high school days, and this is the third print I've owned.
When I first spotted this, I thought it was a desktop of some sort, since it was rutted and appeared to have been written on.
I'm not sure how it was used by its original owners, but I may in fact turn it into a tabletop, since as you can see from the inset,
this mother is laminated into 10mm-thick particleboard. I've never seen anything quite like it, and I consider this
my thrift shop Find of the Year for 2k5. Never one of my Top 10 Dali works, but hey, it's still a Dali...and I absolutely adore it.
I just wish I could have gotten more accurate perspective with the photo.
