Stock appearance

Stripped naked
Model: 2001 Ford GT-40 #139
Description: I admit it...I've had a hard-on for this car since I was about eight. Wanting a GT-40 kit-car for a ride of my own was one of my main inspirations for Tampo modding. But this was a toughie. I was considerably more pleased with the 2002 40 Somethin' (a GT-40-inspired Hot Wheels original) than with this one. White with blue helmet stripes, Matchbox-style, beats either of these by a mile. This isn't a terribly good "stripper"; there are so many sharp details that the result is likely to come out looking something like a 2002 Spectraflame II series car with small areas of bare metal showing through from over-rubbing. I love this color...hate the results.
Level of difficulty: Intermediate to Expert. Requires masking on both edges of the roof to prevent windshield damage, and the sharp grooves around the doors take a lot of patience...more than I have.
Options: Strip racing stripes; leave the four flashing stripes on the quarter panel for a unique custom look.
Watch for: EVERYTHING!!!
