Oh, man...when I first
saw this authentic racing-Tampo Caddie, I was lost to Hot Wheels hell forever.
I'd been loving American LeMans Series racing on SpeedVision (now Speed
Channel) from my recently-installed satellite dish, and I just had
to have this model. This remained for eight months the only model for which
I stripped the wheels too...the top right model, Tampo-less, has wheels
that look like they've just completed a 12-hour endurance race. The
chrome was stripped using nothing but thumb pressure, actually...patience
and a bit of facial grease. So I'm a slimeball...I've got Hot Wheels to
keep me company. Bugger off. |

close to anything sensitive. |

You probably won't
want to strip the wheels, but a fast job can be done by using regular
nail polish remover, which leaves less scuffing on the surface of the plastic.
Selective stripping could be done to leave only the "official"
Cadillac decals, but this is an authentic paint job from the Y2K Le Mans,
so why would you mess with reality? |

but disappear in a year or two...one more release and it's off to Final
Run Hell for the Northstar LMP...Mattel stupidly released a pile
of open-cockpit sports prototypes within a 2-year span and spoiled the collector
base for this style. I'd hate to think this means we won't see a handful
of GTP-style racers when that body style comes back into prominence in 2003/2004. |
