Maisto Mainlines Laugh if you like. Sure the wheels are crap and the interiors are made of imaginary plastic. But the accuracy of some of Maisto's dies is quite good, and the detailing even better. Sure, anybody else's five-dollar premiums outpoint anything you could make from a Maisto mainline, but there are some makes and models you can get from Maisto's 99¢ models that you just won't find under anyone else's trademark, and dare I say it, some Maisto vehicle molds that Hot Wheels and Matchbox haven't equaled. Misc. 'Premium' Brands This section includes customs made from adult collectible or "premium" brands (typically sold for twice or more the price of a Hot Wheels or Matchbox) and not featured elsewhere. These customs are, for the most part, experimental pieces, using bodies which I previously cannibalized for wheels for a different custom. Ratings represent my personal assessments of a piece's value as an adult collectible out of a maximum five stars.
Examples:
: In my opinion, this was a 2-1/2-star piece out-of-the-box; customizing improved it by a full star.
: I loved it in its stock appearance, customizing was a mistake that cost it a star.
: Customizing didn't improve the piece...fortunately, it didn't hurt it either.
