This sheet was included in all mailings to media and bookstores and was used as the cover letter when approaching media through the blitz mailing. I eventually decided to replace the cover letter with this copy, as I felt it was more neutral and less hype. (See FACT_SHT.TXT It too was professionally phototypeset, printed on beige bond letterhead, centered and included the ULTIMATE SHOPPER logotype at the top of the page.

This fact sheet was sent only in press kits destined for markets where I felt I had a reasonable chance of getting an actual review, as opposed to those markets where I was seeking general publicity.

REVIEWER'S FACT SHEET
---------------------

There is no more universal appeal than saving money and few things less exciting than consumer education. Sure, there are dozens of books published every year on the subject of saving money, and most of them fill a real need.

But in an age of two-income families, increasing time pressures and a declining standard of living, traditional moneysaving concepts such as budgeting, coupon-clipping and doing without simply are not enough. Consumer technique needs to be rethought and improved.

THE ULTIMATE SHOPPER attempts to fill these needs. Author Steve Winter provides a comprehensive 10-point moneysaving program designed to suit every consumer, specialized spending strategies and hundreds of the most modern and useful "handy hints" available in book form today.

The sum total is designed to provide immediate and dramatic increases in purchasing power for practically every consumer while actually reducing the time and effort involved in getting maximum dollar value.

CONTENTS:

The Ten-Point Ultimate Shopper Program; Group Buying: Strength in Numbers; The Fine Art of Garage Sailing; How to Build a No-Cost Nestegg; The Cost of Keeping in Touch; Health, Grooming and Personal Care; Maximizing Your Home Entertainment Investment; Afterword; Index

PUBLICITY PLANS:

A nine-week series of radio shorts will be offered free of charge to all interested North American broadcast markets.

A series of no-cost features on saving money in small towns and rural areas will be offered to all interested North American community newspaper markets.

An author's tour is scheduled to begin in early April in Southern Ontario; in-and-out across Canada throughout the year.
